A Fine & Tiny launches at LetsXcape

Newark’s smallest bookshop, the Fine & Tiny, opens for business at LetsXcape Coffee House in the Market Square, Newark on Friday 12 July. The bookshop, which will carry around forty titles initially, will exclusively stock and promote independent authors with a strong local representation, together with ‘indie’ writers and publishers from around the UK.

Though the new digital era is creating a boom in independent publishing, this is by no means a new phenomenon. Charles Dickens, Ernest Hemingway, Margaret Atwood and J.K. Rowling are just a handful of examples of the most famous self-publishers in literary history. Perhaps among the gems of the Fine & Tiny Bookshop’s shelves at the café is the next Harry Potter – or the next Beatrix Potter, another writer who started out on her own.

Supporting independent writers & publishers

There is a thriving writing community in the Newark area and we want to make the town a hub for indie writers everywhere  – the bookshop is a big step in that direction. There has never been a better time to become a DIY publisher given the great opportunities that new technology affords anyone with the creative spark and dedication. We want the bookshop to be a place that promotes these hard-working and unique writers, both from the local area and farther afield. A place where the reading public can discover the writers that are doing it for themselves.

Visit us at LetsXcape where you can buy a coffee and a cake, read one of our stocked books at your table, and maybe invest in an indie writer by buying their books. Don’t forget to pick up a postcard with details on how you can earn money off your next purchase by submitting a review.
